Hi TravelAdd, We traveled with Gentle Giants and the boat was large. Nonetheless, if the seas are choppy, and you are susceptible to seasickness, it may happen. I too get seasick and although it was choppy later into our trip and despite others suffering, I did not get seasick. There are a number of tricks to help minimise seasickness and Gentle Giants were able to manage the situation well. PS. The whales were wonderful.

They come and go and the situation in the bay can change very fast. Nature is unpredictable, like you write. Every trip is a new, unique adventure and that is what makes whale watching so exciting! I recommend you to pick a departure time that suits your other travel plans and then keep an eye on the forecast in advance as the weather conditions play a bigger role in our chances of seeing whales, rather than the time of day you go to sea. However, the change that you can see whales foraging is quite big, for they mainly come to this bay to feed. Just keep an eye on increased bird activity on the surface of the water, this indicate a whales feeding time.
