Yes, I would say that you could also hold a party at 1st street beach too which is just across the river channel. There is also a small public beach area on lakeshore drive just a few blocks past Orchard Beach State Park but it does not have much to offer in the way of facilities. However, the state park itself would be yet another location where a party could be held. There is a small admission fee to enter the park which has restooms, play ground equipment, and may still have some grills. It offers beautiful views of lake michigan which sits a couple hundred feet below. Hope this helps. Enjoy! J.R.
