This walk along the Truckee River in the middle of the city, a nice place to spend some time in good weather, places to sit, places to have a picnic. Fun to look at the water in the river which can …Full review by Thomas V

We enjoyed this short walk along the Truckee river. There were lots of cool murals and sculptures along the way. It's a flat walk, but you should go early if it's hot weatherFull review by Kristen M

The answer depends on where you are staying. If you are in one of the downtown hotels, then leave your car and simply walk to The River Walk. If you are staying in Sparks or outside of downtown, then you would have to locate a parking lot that suites you. If you have to find a parking lot my suggestion is to contact The Reno Visitor's Bureau and ask them. Going to the source is always the best idea.

Hello Nancy, Can you tell me if there are public restrooms along the route? I will be starting off close to the Sienna Casino & need to know where they are. All the maps I have looked at showing the Trukee River walking path do not list bathrooms. As I am a "senior" this is very important information. Thank you from a Canadian! Ms Lee

I recommend using the restroom in the casinos prior to walking the route. There are public restrooms near Arlington St., close to the Wingfield park area but sometimes they are not the cleanest. Also there are restaurants and bars along the way, but I recommend purchasing a drink before asking to use the a restroom.

I also stayed at the El Dorado. It is about 4 blocks to the Truckee River Walk. It is a paved, level trail, head up river to get to Idlewilde park where you will find the Nevada State Law Enforcement Memorial and the Reno Rose Gardens. It is about 1 mile to this park. The trail continues on past the park for probably another mile if you are inclined to go farther. So the walk from the El Dorado to Idlewilde Park is a little over 2 miles round trip. There is a really nice Cinema on the River Walk and there is a section of created whitewater recreation where kayaks practice. The river should be pretty high right now, it will be a fun walk. Check out the Reno Botanical Gardens and Museum too, they are just past the University of Nevada. Also about a 1 mile walk on city streets, mostly uphill.
Q:
Will be staying at Harrah's next week. Is the riverwalk within walking distance?
A:
Yes, I would say so. Just walk toward Wingfield park - that is where we started, at least. Have a great time!
