More New York City protests took place Monday, along with similar demonstrations across the country, against immigration raids conducted by the Trump administration’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency,
Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) targeted workers on produce farms in Ventura County Tuesday morning in one of the latest raids.
“People are seeing that ICE is invading their communities,” says David Chung, an organizer with the People’s Forum. “They’re seeing that ICE is spending all of these resources that they claim that immigrants are taking and they’re ready to stand up and fight back.”
Protests against immigration enforcement actions that start in Los Angeles are now being seen in cities around the country, like New York and Austin.
The No Kings Day of Defiance protests will happen during the military parade in Washington on Saturday for the Army’s 250th anniversary — which coincides with Trump’s birthday.
