A robust Broadway season has culminated in the 78th Tony Awards at Radio City Music Hall in New York, where the robot romance “Maybe Happy Ending,” the history-rewriting farce “Oh, Mary!” and the stylish revival “Sunset Blvd.

Many of the shows powering Broadway’s comeback are up for major honors. “Death Becomes Her,” a campy adaptation of the cult 1992 movie, “Maybe Happy Ending,” the story of two robots who forge a deep connection, and “Buena Vista Social Club,” a look at a group of Cuban musicians, were this year’s most nominated shows with 10 nods apiece.
