Ovechkin week to week for Capitals with leg injury
Alex Ovechkin will be out week to week for the Washington Capitals because of a lower leg injury sustained Monday. The forward was injured in Washington’s 6-2 win at the Utah Hockey Club when he collided with Utah forward Jack McBain 5:30 into the third period. He was slow to get up and was helped to the bench by teammate Jakob Chychrun.
Alex Ovechkin suffers what appears to be a serious injury
The bad news is that Ovechkin left the game in the 3rd period with what appeared to be a serious leg injury. Ovechkin collided knee-on-knee with Utah forward Jack McBain and went down in a heap on the ice. Ovechkin looked to be in considerable pain and had to be helped off the ice.
