Governor Kemp said he spoke to President Biden who offered resources, and he submitted an expedited emergency declaration to be approved by the federal government. He said it's been acknowledged by FEMA and he believes it'll be approved quickly.

Governor Brian Kemp made his way to Jeff Davis County to assess damage from Hurricane Helene and talk recovery efforts on Tuesday, where residents are reeling from the devastating impact of Hurricane Helene. The storm, which struck Thursday night, left a trail of destruction, killing two people and affecting thousands of lives across the county.
