Stock-market investors got what they wanted when the Federal Reserve delivered an extra-large September rate cut — the risk now is that strong jobs data in the week ahead could be too much of a good thing.

Despite the improvements, Kinder Morgan still has a high-interest expense. Its trailing-12-month interest expense is $1.85 billion. For context, Kinder Morgan spent $2.5 billion on capital expenditures and $2.54 billion on dividends in the trailing 12 months.

Stocks have historically reacted well to Fed rate cuts. Since 1971, the first Fed cut has led to positive returns for investors 100% of the time in the next six months, with an average gain of 13%, according to Fundstrat's Tom Lee.
