MLK organizers told News Center 7′s Mason Fletcher that while the cold will last a while, the influence will last forever. They will start marching down Third Street at 10 a.m. today. It will take them to the Dakota Center where people will meet for a workshop on conflict resolution.

Prepare for delays in Seattle as an MLK Day march kicks off at Garfield High School at 12:30 p.m. in the Central District.

The June 1963 march in Detroit was, at the time, the largest civil rights demonstration in U.S. history, with 125,000 marching down Woodward Avenue.

The MLK Community March is canceled because of the below freezing temperatures and has been rescheduled for February 1.

Temperatures in the city will feel like they are in the single digits on Monday as extremely cold weather moves into the region.
