President Donald Trump's administration said it would deploy 2,000 National Guard troops on Saturday as federal agents in Los Angeles faced off against a few hundred demonstrators during a second day of protests following immigration raids.

National Guard troops arrived in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday morning following a couple of days marked by violent clashes between law enforcement officers and protesters over President Trump's immigration enforcement operations conducted in the area.

On Sunday, President Trump deployed the military to face off against thousands of people protesting immigration raids. The confrontation took place outside the Metropolitan Detention Center and included around 300 National Guard troops who lined up with riot shields and fired tear gas at protesters.
