Severe weather outbreak kills at least a dozen people as storms, tornadoes moved across the Midwest and South.

A likely tornado ripped through Elliott, Mississippi, as the community slept, flipping cars, toppling power poles and tearing homes apart. Footage shows residents sifting through the aftermath in the dark as reports of injuries and widespread destruction emerged.
