Binghamton University confirmed five international students had their visas revoked amid a nationwide push by the Trump administration.

While not all the affected schools said immigration status changes were tied to activism, they come as the Trump administration cracks down on students who protested Israel’s war in Gaza.

An increasing number of student deportation threats involve the revocation of visas based on relatively minor offenses like years-old misdemeanors, according to immigration attorneys, or sometimes no reason at all.
