Add as many boxes as you need to the hierarchy. To add a box, click the closest box in the diagram to where you want to place a new box. The Design tab will appear on the ribbon.

Press Enter to add a new line. Press Tab before typing to create a sub-level (branch). As you type, you will see that SmartArt will automatically adjust and format the hierarchy.
