Six men are in the hospital after a shooting closed an off-ramp of Interstate 5 in Stockton Friday afternoon, police say.

California Highway Patrol was dispatched around 11:55 a.m. to southbound Highway 65 just north of the off-ramp for Twelve Bridges Drive.

Before the Interstate Highway System, before famed Route 66, before highways were even numbered, there was one road that started it all, one road that changed America forever: The Lincoln Highway.

Firefighters were called to the 2300 block of Lincoln Highway East just before 1:30 p.m. There are no reported injuries at this time and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
