Belgian designer Glenn Martens has been appointed as new creative director of Maison Margiela with immediate effect, the brand and its owner OTB said on Wednesday.

The Belgian designer, who is also creative director at Diesel, succeeds John Galliano, who stepped down in December after 10 years at the creative helm.
