The No. 1 Penn State wrestling team rolled again Friday night, winning eight of 10 bouts in a dominant 31-7 Big Ten victory over No. 6 Nebraska. A record crowd of 6,661 at the Cornhuskers' Devaney Sports Complex caught a glimpse of the buzzsaw that is Nittany Lions wrestling this season.

Nebraska broke through Penn State’s stranglehold at 133 with a surprising 14-7 win by Erie Prep grad Jacob Van Dee over Penn State’s Braeden Davis and a major decision at 149 by fourth-ranked Ridge Lovett over second-ranked Shayne Van Ness. That Lovett won wasn’t as surprising as the 10-2 score itself.

Davis got an escape and a takedown, but Van Dee had a reversal to lead 7-5 after one period. After Davis tallied an escape in the second period, Van Dee countered Davis’ throw attempt for a takedown. The Cornhuskers’ wrestler added a riding time point for a 14-7 victory over the Penn State wrestler.

Nebraska wrestling welcomed No. 1 Penn State to the Devaney Center on Friday for a highly anticipated dual. A record-breaking crowd of 6,736 looked on as the Nittany Lions flexed their superior talent in a 31-7 victory.

The Penn State wrestling team (8-0, 2-0 Big Ten) rolled to a 31-7 win over host Nebraska (6-2, 1-1) in its first Big Ten road dual of the season.

Nebraska will have to be at the top of its game to hang with Penn State. Coach Mark Manning won his 300th dual meet in his 24 years at Nebraska when the Huskers defeated Minnesota last Saturday. Manning is 300-107-3 at Nebraska.
