Trader Joe’s has a new item that is flying off the shelves, but this time it’s not a seasonal treat. Mini canvas tote bags are all the rage this week, as the beloved grocery store released some limited edition spring colors including pastel shades of pink, lavender, baby blue and mint green.

For a second year, a limited run of mini canvas tote bags had people waiting in line outside Trader Joe’s stores. At some stores, they sold out in less than an hour.

The bags have cultivated an aggressive resale market, with some reporting scalper-level prices in excess of $1,000.

Trader Joe's, which restocked its mini tote bags this week, has stores in Danbury, Stamford, Fairfield, Orange and other places in Connecticut.
