Samsung Secures an Astounding $6.4B Grant to Advance Texas chiphas received a sizable $6.4 billion grant from the U.S. government to expand its Texas operations. This grant is only one component of the biggest act called the 2022 CHIP and Science Act.
Samsung had previously indicated it was exploring sites in Texas, Arizona and New York for a possible new U.S. chip plant. It has had a chip fabrication plant in Austin, Texas, since the late 1990s.
