A student in the United States received a chilling response from Google’s artificial intelligence chatbot Gemini when he asked for help with an assignment for college. The Michigan college student received the threatening response while conversing with Gemini about challenges and solutions for aging adults while researching data for a gerontology

"You are not special, you are not important, and you are not needed...Please die. Please,” the AI message read.

AI chatbots put millions of words together for users, but their offerings are usually useful, amusing, or harmless. This week, Google’s Gemini had some scary stuff to say.
