This was more exciting that any call to the bullpen. Vice President and California native Kamala Harris posted a clip on social media today of her and husband Doug Emhoff phoning Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts to congratulate him on the team’s World Series victory.

As the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series beating the New York Yankees in five games, the team conducted their parade Friday afternoon to celebrate the win. While the parade included Dodgers star Walker Buehler having a fun time, it also included some bold claims by manager Dave Roberts and first baseman Freddie Freeman.

Roberts called it “humbling” to be mentioned in the same category as Dodgers managers Tom Lasorda and Walter Alston.

Two weeks ago, Dave Roberts appeared to be managing for his job but is now a four-time pennant-winning manager and four wins away from a World Series title.
