During a press screening of Gavin & Stacey: The Finale on the 18th December 2024, Ruth Jones revealed the ending was initially meant to be set at Cardiff Airport, instead of Southhampton Docks. But due to security reasons, they were unable to get sign off for the big reveal to happen at the airport, so pivoted to the docks.
