The Enforcement Directot-rate (ED) has pressed sections of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) to book Siddaramaiah in its enforcement case information report (ECIR), the equivalent of a police FIR.

Siddaramaiah said that there is no possibility of a resignation over the case. “I work with conscience. So there is no need for me to resign,” he said.

Siddaramaiah's remarks came after his wife announced that she would return the 14 compensatory land sites that she received from the Mysuru Urban Development Authority in the wake of the land 'scam' probe.
