President Donald Trump spoke Thursday about the importance of religion but also used a speech at the National Prayer Breakfast to advocate for new air traffic control technologies and to press the case for cracking down on immigration and barring transgender athletes from competing in women’s and girls’ school-sponsored sports.

After squabbling with Catholics and liberal Protestants, Trump basked in the love of right-wing Evangelicals and boosted their causes.
