China and Thailand should deepen trust in each other and expand cooperation to counter growing global uncertainties, President Xi Jinping said on Thursday during a meeting in Beijing with Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

BEIJING: Just before Paetongtarn Shinawatra went to Beijing for her first China visit as Thailand’s prime minister on Feb 5, her government took a drastic step to tackle scam centres in neighbouring Myanmar.

The Chinese leader also thanked visiting Thai PM Paetongtarn Shinawatra for her government’s actions against online scamming compounds in Myanmar.

"Thai people always come to China and feel like home, so I hope that Chinese people can come to Thailand and feel like home as well," she told China Daily in Beijing on Thursday. Paetongtarn is paying an official visit to China from Wednesday to Saturday.
