Washington Capitals goaltender Charlie Lindgren left Friday night’s contest versus the Montreal Canadiens after sustaining an upper-body injury. The incident occurred early in the second period when Capitals forward Brandon Duhaime shoved Canadiens captain Nick Suzuki into Lindgren.

The Capitals are shaking things up on the top-6, with Pierre-Luc Dubois replacing Dylan Strome as Alex Ovechkin's center. Connor McMichael and Tom Wilson will play between Strome, while Aliaksei Protas moves to that top line.

The left wing practiced Monday on a line with Dubois at center and Aliaksei Protas at right wing. Ovechkin, who has 20 goals in 27 games this season and is 22 away from breaking Wayne Gretzky ’s NHL record of 894 goals, has played regularly with Dylan Strome, who practiced on a line with Connor McMichael and Tom Wilson.
