The Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros liked trading with each other so much in December that they decided to do it again. The first blockbuster trade between the two clubs represented a seismic shift in Houston's future strategy.

ESPN's Jeff Passan reported that the Astros are sending reliever Ryan Pressly and cash considerations to the Cubs. In exchange, Ari Alexander of KPRC 2 Houston reported that minor league pitcher Juan Bello will head to the Astros.

At this point, there is a chance that Berti could start the 2025 season as the Cubs' everyday third baseman. Chicago ended last season with Isaac Paredes manning the hot corner, but the team dealt him away to the Houston Astros earlier this offseason in the trade that brought in Kyle Tucker.

As the MLB offseason continues, free agent 3B Alex Bregman has plenty of options, with the Astros, Cubs, Red Sox, and Tigers all in on him.

The Cubs are in agreement with infielder Jon Berti, reports Robert Murray of FanSided. It’s a one-year, $2MM guarantee that includes another $1.3MM in performance bonuses, reports Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
