A 39-year-old skier died after he went off a trail and crashed at Black Mountain in Jackson, N.H., on Sunday, officials said. The man was identified as Eric M. Page of Barlett, N.H., according to the Jackson Police Department.

A 39-year-old man is dead from a skiing crash at the Black Mountain Ski Area in New Hampshire late Sunday afternoon. Jackson Police say they were called in at 5:51 pm after the ski patrol was sent to the “Upper Maple Slalom” trail to help a patient in an accident near the summit.

Another skier spotted the man at the edge of the snow line Sunday evening, and the general manager of the ski area called the death a "tragic accident."
