Officials say the three-alarm brush fire broke out in Highbridge Park in Washington Heights around 3 p.m. Tuesday. Fire officials say flames extended across 10 acres from West 155th Street to West 170th Street off the Harlem River.

Fire crews were battling hot spots from a large brush fire in Milton, Massachusetts on Tuesday. The fire began near Houghton's Pond at Blue Hills Reservation Monday afternoon, NBC 10 Boston reported.

Hillside Street in the Blue Hills Reservation is closed until further notice as fire crews continue to work on extinguishing brush fires that first broke out Monday across 40 acres of the 7,000-acre property managed by the state's Department of Conservation and Recreation.
