Voters rejected Ohio Issue 1 Tuesday, choosing to stick with the status quo instead of setting up a new citizen commission

CINCINNATI (WKRC) - Kentucky voters have approved a constitutional amendment that prohibits non-U.S. citizens from voting in the state. The measure, known as Amendment One, passed with 62.4% of the vote. In contrast, voters rejected Amendment Two, which would have permitted the use of public funds for vouchers to attend private schools.

Ohioans are projected to reject an amendment to the state’s constitution that would change how district maps are created, Decision Desk HQ projects.

This means we keep the current setup, where elected politicians in Ohio make up the state’s redistricting commission which draws the map. Opponents argued the amendment would require districts to be gerrymandered — or manipulated to favor one party.
