Liquor stores will remain closed across Mumbai and other cities for four days to ensure a smooth conduct of the Maharashtra Assembly election on November 20. The sale of liquor will be banned in the city after 6 pm on Monday.

Several dry days will be observed in Mumbai and other cities of Maharashtra this month in view of the state assembly elections. The Election Commission of India (EC) has mandated these dry days to ensure orderly voting.

Dry days are designated dates when alcohol sales are banned in a region. These restrictions are usually put in place during key national, religious, or cultural events and during elections to maintain order and avoid disruptions.

Shreyas Iyer has been named captain of the 17-member Mumbai squad for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, to be played from November 23 to December 15. The squad also features Ajinkya Rahane who has been captaining Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy with the first half of the competition ending recently,

Suryakumar Yadav has not been included in the Mumbai squad, as he reportedly won't be available for the first few matches due to personal reasons.
