Pistons president of basketball operations Trajan Langdon said Thompson is working through a medical process with the NBA and National Basketball Players Association.

The Pistons have cleared Thompson for non-contact drills as he works through the NBA and NBPA's medical process.

Ausar Thompson remains out as the Detroit Pistons begin training camp, and while he remains as positive as ever, updates are sparse. Thompson is still working through an NBA program and protocol with the league and NBA Players Association to get fully cleared to return to full-contact and 5-on-5 work.
