Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin, who's chasing Wayne Gretzky's goal record, suffered a leg injury Monday vs. the Utah Hockey Club.

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin has left Monday’s tilt against Utah Hockey Club after a knee-on-knee collision. In the third period, Ovechkin was skating when he collided with Jack McBain in an apparent knee-on-knee collision. He needed help getting up, and ultimately went down the tunnel and did not return.

Alex Ovechkin scored two more goals to move closer to Wayne Gretzky’s all-time mark, but his status is in question after a collision forced him out of the game.
