Caitlin Clark says it’s a great time to be a basketball fan in Indiana. It’s enough to turn Clark, one of the state’s biggest stars, into a fan during the NBA playoffs.
In the Indiana Fever's season-opener, Caitlin Clark's competitive fire was on full display when she and Chicago Sky star Angel Reese were involved in a confrontation after hard foul. Both Clark and Reese eventually played it off as a "basketball play" and moved one with their lives.
Last year, Clark put up 19.2 points and a WNBA-high 8.4 assists a game while earning an All-Star berth and the Rookie of the Year award. The Fever, who hadn't made the playoffs since 2016, went 20-20 and returned to the postseason, where they were swept in the first round by the Connecticut Sun.
The nickname for Clark comes from the show "Inspector Gadget," which was produced in the 1980s. It's a cartoon with a cyborg police inspector named Gadget. Sophie Cunningham also stunned in her pregame outfit for the Indiana Fever versus Atlanta Dream game.
WNBA legend Sue Bird shared a strong message when speaking out about the coverage of Caitlin Clark's flagrant foul on Angel Reese.
