On Thursday night, the NFL Honors ceremony saw Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year award, as expected. What wasn't anticipated, however, was Denver Broncos ' rookie phenom Bo Nix coming in third in the voting.

Cornerback and team captain Pat Surtain II is adding AP Defensive Player of the Year to his award collection. He was also recently named Defensive Player of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America and was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November, among other awards.

Former Oregon Ducks quarterback Bo Nix had many doubters going into his rookie year in the NFL. Selected as the last of six quarterbacks to be drafted in the first round last year, there were few expectations for Nix to succeed with the Denver Broncos in his first season under head coach Sean Payton.
