Holding signs saying 'gringo go home' and 'no tourists,' Mexico City residents took to the streets to complain about what they say is the gentrification of their city.

Hundreds of people protested in Mexico City on Friday against the gentrification of neighborhoods where many foreign residents live and many foreign tourists stay, such as Condesa and Roma.

Top concerns include the displacement of longtime residents as rents and food prices surge. Ire over the influx of well-heeled foreigners has been building for years.
