An Albany Police officer shot an unarmed man Sunday morning in the city's South End neighborhood.

City police said a man was shot in the leg by officers on Third Avenue in Albany's South End neighborhood Sunday morning.

Albany police said an officer shot a man early Sunday morning on Third Avenue near Sloan Street. Law enforcement said the man, who suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the leg, is receiving treatment at Albany Medical Center.

Albany Police say an officer shot a man in his leg around 7:50 Sunday morning. The shooting happened on the 100 block of Third Avenue near Sloan Street. The adult male was treated on scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to Albany Medical Center Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries according to police.
