Apple plans to release an updated Vision Pro headset with its as-yet-unannounced M5 chip in 2025, according to Apple supply chain analyst

The only headset Apple intends to launch in 2025 will reportedly be an updated version of the Vision Pro featuring an enhanced M5 processor.

That’s according to respected industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who posted on X that there will be a new, M5-powered Vision Pro launching in 2025. However, it's going to be the only head-mounted device Apple will release in the near future – Kuo says that the cheaper model has been "delayed beyond 2027".

The Apple Vision Pro hasn’t exactly been a roaring success for Apple, but it sounds like the company is still moving forward with a successor. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple could launch the Apple Vision Pro 2 as early as next year — powered by the still-unannounced M5 chip.

CEO Tim Cook recently said the $3,500 Vision Pros weren't a "mass market product." Analysts said scaling back production would be smart.

New designs for Apple's Vision lineup could help the company find new customers looking for a lower price tag or a lighter, sleeker wearable for their face.

Apple is reportedly still working on an affordable Vision Pro headset, however, based on latest reports, it looks like the release date for the device has been delayed to 2027.
