The second week has begun in the trial of Jose Ibarra, who faces multiple charges, including three counts of felony murder in the death of nursing student Laken Riely. NBC News’ Priya Sridhar recaps the first day of the trial and who to expect on the witness stand next.

In the nine months since Laken Riley was killed while jogging at the University of Georgia, her death turned into a lightning rod over crime and illegal immigration and cast an ominous shadow over the college town of Athens.
