Over a year after its release, Baldur's Gate 3 is reaching new heights of active daily players - and publishing director Michael "Cromwelp" Douse thinks he might know why.

Baldur's Gate 3's players numbers are up compared to this time last year, seemingly due to official mod support from developer Larian Studios. Larian director of publishing Michael Douse shared the improvement on X/Twitter,

Earlier in November, Douse revealed that Larian had sold two copies of Baldur's Gate 3 in The Vatican, and that the game was on one other wishlist. Perhaps that person has now decided to buy the game.

A hotfix limiting mod use in Baldur’s Gate 3 is on its way to the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game, developer Larian Studios announced on Nov. 14. But the studio says it’s all in the name of “prevent [ing] instability, reduced performance, and crashes.”
