One of the eight people in Washington sickened with E. coli likely linked to organic carrots is a person from Franklin County, according to the Washington state Department of Health. Other cases were in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties.

The outbreak, detected across 18 U.S. states, is linked to carrots and baby carrots sold by brands such as Wegmans, 365, Trader Joe’s and Nature’s Promise.

Grimmway Farms, based in Bakersfiled, California, has recalled the carrots, which included whole and baby organic carrots sold in bags under multiple brand names including 365, Cal-Organic, Nature's Promise, O-Organics, Trader Joe's and Wegmans, among others.
