Verizon Wireless customers were without service for most of the day, but service seems to have been restored during the evening. Here's the latest on the Verizon outage.

On Monday, Verizon suffered a massive outage that affected customers across the country. While it’s not clear exactly how many customers were without service, Verizon has more than 114 million customers in the U.S.

As of 12:00 p.m. ET, DownDetector (a site that shares the same parent company as Mashable) shows that there have been over 100,000 reports of Verizon outages. Fifty-one percent say that the issue involves their mobile phone, 35 percent say they're not getting any signals, and 14 percent say they're experiencing a total blackout.
