While trying to hit the slopes in Vermont, John Murphy and his family were met with a tragedy that almost cost them their lives.

A plane crashed Monday on Equinox Mountain outside the town of Manchester, Vt. The Manchester Police Department confirmed that a plane had gone down in their jurisdiction but could not provide any additional information including the type of plane,

The Murphy family took off from Baltimore on Wednesday morning for the Rutland Regional Airport but they never made it.
