In the Northwood hills neighborhood off Old Buncombe Road in Greenville County, there is catastrophic damage from Hurricane Helene.

To start the meeting county officials gave a brief update on storm clean up efforts. “Usually the upstate is going to the coastal counties after hurricanes, this time they’re coming to us,” said Emergency Management Director, Jessica Stumpf. Unprecedented damage is how Greenville County officials described what’s left behind after the storm.

With power still out for the majority of the Upstate, schools and colleges are making decisions about cancellations and e-learning.
