By Luc Cohen (Reuters) -Columbia University student Mohsen Mahdawi was released from U.S. immigration custody on Wednesday, after a judge ruled he should be free on bail to challenge the Trump administration's efforts to deport him over his participation in pro-Palestinian protests.

A judge on Wednesday released Mohsen Mahdawi, a Palestinian man who led protests against the war in Gaza as a student at Columbia University and was arrested by immigration officials during an interview about finalizing his U.

A federal judge ordered the release of Mohsen Mahdawi, the second pro-Palestinian Columbia University student detained under the Trump administration.
