In a reversal, the National Park Service removed fencing around Dupont Circle Park and opened it to the public. Before sundown, two people were stabbed and one was shot.

A shooting and a double stabbing are under investigation in the Dupont Circle neighborhood amid WorldPride DC festivities in the area. The violence follows a week of back-and-forth about whether Dupont Circle Park would remain open for this weekend’s Pride events.

Police in Washington, D.C., are investigating two incidents that left two teenagers with stab wounds and another person shot less than one hour apart while a Pride Month event that was taking place nearby on June 7.
