LAS VEGAS — Dedan Thomas Jr. made a layup and a 12-foot fadeaway jumper to cap a closing seven-point run by UNLV, which defeated No. 22 Utah State 65-62 on Wednesday night. Utah State’s Mason Falslev missed a 3-pointer in the final seconds, snapping the Aggies’ six-game winning streak.

The Utah State Aggies have had an impressive season this year. Coming into January 15th, they were undefeated in Mountain West play and 16-1 overall. The Rebels, on the other hand, have struggled, entering the game with a 3-2 conference record and 9-7 overall.

UNLV took on the number 22 ranked team in the country, Utah State last night as five point underdogs. It was the biggest game of the season for UNLV. They had home court advantage and they took full advantage of that.
