Marlamin met and fell in love with Holga Kilgore, an Uthgardt human barbarian of the Elk tribe. However, because he was outsider, Holga was kicked out of her Elk tribe and shunned. Holga and Marlamin married regardless.

Accepting that Marlamin was happy with Gwinn, Holga departed, taking with her the old walking stick she'd once given him and thinking he looked even better than she recalled. She resolved to defeat Forge and prove her worth to both Marlamin and the Elk Tribe.
