Using some shears from Shear Sharp NZ today to shear some perendale ewes. I'm shearing with my thumb on top of the handle to get a close and clean finish on the sheep. The first pair are 6inch drummer boy shears, which are a short stiff shear that give good entry into the wool and are great for tough shearing sheep. They are also great for learners or those shearing many different breeds as the shorter blade gives more versatility but means they aren't as good for shearing large numbers or sheep
